THINKING OUT LOUD

I'm walking around in my underwear despite the fact that it is fucking freezing. I am ready for summer to return, and I am tired of wearing clothing over every inch of my body.

I've been reading Warren Ellis's comic Transmetropolitan again. I had forgotten how much I love that series. The book is the story of journalist Spider Jerusalem's return to The City (which is any city, because really it's a stand-in for America.) Really, the comic is a series of thinly-veiled liberal rants, like Robert Heinlein with a dirty mouth (and without that pesky liberalism.) (If that sounds familiar, congratulations, you read my Facebook page.)

Anyway, the book has me thinking about transhumanism, and I'll write a little more about that tomorrow. Right now I'm just thinking out loud, playing with half-formed ideas. So I was thinking about transhumanism and Francois Sagat, which will make more sense when I post a video tomorrow, perhaps with more thoughts.

Francois Sagat is not a porn star I should really be "in to." I'm don't really fall for the big-muscle type. I read a few interviews, though, and he really grew on me. It's his story that makes me love him.

Stories are important. It occurred to me a little while ago that most of the porn stars that have really resonated with me do so because they have a story to them. (Except for Johnny Hazzard. He's just really fucking hot.) There was RJ Danvers, who I read an interview with and discovered his love for comics. I began to read his blog, and suddenly he had a narrative. And there was Tag Eriksson, whose real name is Fredrik Eklund. His father helped create Sweden's largest bank, and now Eklund sells real estate in Manhattan.

They stick out because they have stories.

Stories are important.
