SPACE CADET AND ANGELFACE!

Two comics that I had a hand in (on the post-production side of things) are available now from Class Comics! Shortly after I turned in the final pages for Crash Course, Patrick and Fraser invited me to do the lettering on some of Class Comics‘ upcoming titles. (In comics, lettering is somewhere between typesetting and graphic design—the letterer is responsible for designing and placing the word balloons, the text, any on-panel words like signage, and the sound effects).

The first book that I worked on was Space Cadet #1, written by Patrick Fillion and illustrated by Bob Grey (with covers by Patrick Fillion). Space Cadet #1 continues the story of Byron Durand, Fillion’s hot-as-fuck adventurer, as he finds himself in a strange new land filled with centaurs and fairies.

From classcomics.com:

Ever since his first appearance way back in “the Incredibly Hung Naked Justice #2″, Space Cadet has been a fan favorite. He is a powerful, handsome hero with a unique look and personality which many readers can identify with.

Now in his very own mini series, Space Cadet will prove once again why he is so popular with fans. Called upon to help liberate the oppressed satyrs from the evil Baron Von Phallus, Space Cadet dives into action employing his amazing new super powers to fight the good fight.

Space Cadet #1 picks up after the events in Rapture #3, and plunges Space Cadet deep into the mystical realm of Ordovica. You’ll meet sexy new characters, such as Strider, the King of the centaurs and get re-acquainted with familiar faces such as Vallan and Baron Von Phallus.

The second book I worked on was Angelface #2, written and illustrated by Benoît Prévot.

Angelface #2 is a gorgeous book filled with luscious and erotic artwork and a dense storyline. My hand in Angelface #2 was very small—the book had been lettered in French before I received it, so my job was little more than cutting and pasting the translated text into the prearranged spaces and making sure that the dialogue fit properly. That being said, I’m incredibly proud to have any part in making this book available to readers! Prévot’s work is top-notch and sets a high bar for all erotic comic writers and artists to reach for. It’s a must-have for comic readers!

From classcomics.com:

Angelface #2, Prohibition reigns over the United States. Red finally arrives in New York in search of his former accomplice and partner in crime, Alan. Red wants his share of the loot and an explanation for Alan’s betrayal. He will stop at nothing to get those things.

By chance Red meets Joshua, a sexy bellhop who would do anything for Red’s love… even risk his own life to help him track down the man who betrayed him.

Meanwhile, Angelface has become a burglar in the employ of the dastardly Black Rook. His is a gilded cage, and the Black Rook’s grip is tight. Angelface’s every move is monitored by the Black Rook’s henchman, the sadistic Romeo. The handsome thief is truly a prisoner with little hope of escape…

…Until he crosses paths with Red anew. Angelface devises a plan to achieve his freedom. The trouble is that he may have to sacrifice poor Red in order to escape the clutches of the Black Rook.

  1. Space Cadet was one of the best new titles from Class for sure. The relationship between Strider and Byron is one of my favorites from the company. Good job on the lettering! ^_^
